Waxing can keep your skin hair free for up to 3-5 weeks; however results may vary individually due to hormonal issues, hair typologies and the frequency of waxing.

1. Always analyse your client’s skin and get a brief information on their medical history and perform your waxing service with their consent.
2. Always get your waxing service done from a certified aesthetician.
3. Prepare the wax by heating it in a Waxxo heater which is designed to work for Rica wax and achieve optimum heat required to melt the wax for smooth applications. The wax should not be too runny; this indicates that the wax is too hot and you might risk burning the skin. If the texture of the wax is ribbon like, stringy when you stir, not gliding easily on the skin, indicates the wax is not ready. It still requires some more heating. The right texture should resemble like honey and should easily glide on the skin. That is when your wax is ready to be applied.
4. Always test a small part of the area to be waxed 24hrs before to ensure no irritation occurs.
5. Hair growth needs to be at least 2mm from the skin’s surface so the wax can adhere to the hair. Longer hair should be trimmed to 5mm before waxing. Area to be treated must be clean, dry and free from any moisture.
6. Avoid a shower or hot bath after waxing. The warm water will open your pores but it will also soften your skin making it more likely to bruise or become irritated. Wait an hour or two before commencing your waxing treatment. Avoid strong alkaline soap for shower or bath.
7. Keep your skin moisturized/hydrated ALL the time to avoid in grown hair and maintain skin health.
8. Avoid using anti-perspirants or perfumes for 24-72 hours if under-arms have been waxed. Avoid applying chemical based products on other waxed areas too. 9. Avoid direct exposure to the sun after waxing treatments.

Note: If your wax isn’t picking up all the hair then it may be due to numerous dead skin cells that the wax is sticking to rather than the hair. Exfoliating the skin daily will remove these dead skin cells and let the wax adhere to the hair properly.
